I joined the Bike Co-op in 2008 when a group of volunteers organized and submitted our 501c3 non-profit application. Since then I’ve helped with construction and maintenance at 1501 North College, grant-writing and fundraising for the new building, and served on the board as Treasurer and currently President. What I enjoy most is volunteering during Open Shop (wrenching) and getting a chance to teach others the life skill of bike maintenance.

I have had a love of bikes and helping people with their bike repairs from an early age starting in grade school, junior high, high school, college and then dental school. I worked all positions in bike shops including shop manager. A bicycle accident in August of 2009 led me back to bicycle repair after having to retire overnight from a thriving career in dentistry. The FC Bicycle Co-op has given me the opportunity to continue to serve and interact with others which has always been an important part of my life. I’ve been an advocate for cycling for years, serving on various bicycle advisory boards and running all kinds of bike races.

I first started volunteering with the bike co-op in 2018. I am passionate about learning bike mechanics, bike commuting, and exploring the gravel roads surrounding Fort Collins. My pride and joy is a 1983 Miyata Team steel road bike that has a sweet 80s paint job. I joined the board of directors in 2024 after previously being employed with the co-op to run the front desk and develop our bilingual (Spanish-English) services.

I first joined the Fort Collins Bike Co-op as a volunteer mechanic to empower riders by helping them overcome barriers to working on their bikes. Whether I’m wrenching during Open Shop or helping someone get their first bike rolling, I love the hands-on work and the spirit of collaboration that defines the Co-op. As a board member, I’m committed to supporting the Co-op’s mission and making bike access more inclusive and sustainable. My favorite moments are spent in the shop with our three boys, passing on skills and the values of service and community.
