Arrive at the north end of the CSU Oval on Monday, April 19th at 3:00pm to ride through campus on your favorite form of alternative transportation.

Be sure to throw on your most fabulous costume to show your support for The Green University. The parade will begin at 3:10pm on the Oval and end at 3:50pm at Newton’s Corner (the sculpture at Pitkin and Center). Students, faculty and staff are invited and helmets are required.

Also, be sure to show your support for the Bike Co-op’s Safe Cycling Program which will be on hand earlier in the day, mentoring students on how to do an ABC Quick Check on their bikes with hands-on tube changes and demos on how to do quick barrel adjustments on their brakes and derailleurs!

To gather as much public input as possible, the Co-op will hold nine public meetings over the next seven weeks.  The information we collect will be delivered to the Bicycle Advisory Committee, the Transportation Board, the planning team for Plan Fort Collins and other groups or organizations as appropriate.

Poet. Rapper. Quaker. Cyclist.

These are words that are rarely used in the same sentence, never mind being used to define the same person. Yet they are specifically the words that one would use to describe John Watts, an off-beat singer/songwriter that explores themes of faith and faithfulness, growing up Quaker, the environmental crisis, war, personal accountability, and inward peace, through performances of the spoken word.

The eclectic artist recently announced that he will embark on his 2010 Two Wheel Tour Tour, and instead of a tour bus or even a friend’s conversion van, he’ll make the trip- from Richmond to Boston- completely by bike.

To celebrate the holiday season with all your favorite bike-nuts, come join us for the Co-op Ugly Sweater Christmas Party. We’ll potluck food and beverages, enjoy some music, and focus on what really matters during the holidays, laughing, dancing, and having a great time with friends. The Urban Assault Ride. is the biggest bike scavenger hunt series in the world! You and a teammate will take to the streets on a city-wide bike adventure. Plot your own course to checkpoints around town where you’ll take on physical and mental obstacle courses. Be the 1st team to hit all the checkpoints and you’ll win a pair of New Belgium Brewing cruiser bikes (and be the first team to the beer tent ;)

The event is well known for its funky obstacle courses which must be completed before moving on. We’re talking modified Big Wheels, Bike Jousting, The Keg Walk, Inflatable Slides…and much more. Obstacles change every year and at every UAR. It’s a killer event for anybody who can pedal a bike (ages 7 and up). After the fun at the checkpoints there’s a ragin’ after party with a huge prize raffle and plenty of New Belgium beer and Rio Grande fajitas.
